I'd have someone else with a little experience do it - it takes about 2 minutes.

did you deterime the switch was faulty?? were the bulbs ok ? fuses ? the switch is not hard to change, remove the wire plug, if the switch is adjustable ? mark the old one so when you install the new switch it will be set the same distance from the pedal
