pull carpeting down from the back of the taillight inside the trunk and you will see twist nuts that have to come off and then you pull the complete light assembly out from the outside and replace the bulb. How do you change the brake lights on a 1996 Mustang?

Usually the taillight lens cover can be removed with a torx screwdriver, or you may have light bulb socket holders that turn out from inside the trunk. How do you change the brake lights on a 1996 Mustang?
Changing the bulbs on most cars is from inside the trunk. You may have to pull some carpet out of the way to see it. You will see white plastic thingamajigs with wires going to them. Twist the plastic to the left until you can pull out the bulb. You may need pliers to take the old bulb out (but don't put the pliers on the glass). Do it yourself and enjoy the satisfaction of fixing your car on your own.
